This Viking cup is beautifullt hand made, on original finds in Haithabu from the 9th and 10th centuries. Ball pots or bomb pots of this kind were very common in the coastal area to the east, and many different pots and cups have been found throughout the Viking Age period.

It was an important trading hub, which saw wars between Harold Bluetooth and the Holy Roman Empire, between Scandinavia and the neighbouring areas up to the Baltic States. it is one of the most important archaeological sites in Germany and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018, it is so fundemental to Viking Reenactment and history, that the majority of Western Viking kit is often based of it.
